About Us
Kent Re-Users was
established in January 2010, and is a new way to clear unwanted office/home
furniture, personal items or full room by room clearances, and in turn enables
our customers to support several charities. Our aim is to find new homes for
furniture and household items, and after a quick polish or clean they are sold
via either on-line or our Emporium on site. Our furniture comes from a variety
of sources, from full house clearances to individual collections due to
downsizing, sale of property or change of furniture style.
Charities We Support
The Kent, Surrey and
Sussex Air Ambulances have always been in the forefront of our minds, and the General
Manager of Kent Re-Users, Trevor Dennis, has been involved in fundraising since 2003. With the
help of present and previous colleagues, we have raised money by recycling
toner cartridges, paper & cardboard and also held fund raising events,
where Trevor, dressed as Father Christmas and
visited offices in Kent, collecting money as he went. In all, we have, with the
help of our old colleagues at Haden Building Management/Balfour Beatty
WorkPlace and Job Centre Plus, raised in excess of £8,500. Whilst these
recycling initiatives had to cease, we have continued to look for new ways to
raise much needed funds, hence, Kent Re-Users was born. Since Kent Re-Users has
been trading we have recycled just under 4 tons of paper and cardboard with
funds going to Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulances, and have a collection
tin at our office for our customers which continues to raise much needed funds.
In addition to the
Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance trust, we also support British
Humanitarian Aid with donations of clothing, kitchen items and small electrical’s,
which are not generally sought after items in the UK, but provide support for
the people of the Ukraine.
Our third charity is
Porchlight, who help homeless people into accommodation, and we hold a stock of
blankets, pillows, bed linen, kettles, toasters, cups, plates and knife/fork
sets to assist in independent living.
Finally, our clearance
of homes provides us with a large stock of books, CD’s, and DVD’s, and we have
a small shop on site open to customers on Monday’s and Thursday’s, but have
limited space, so donate some of these items on a regular basis to British
Heart via their drop off boxes.
If you would like to
arrange a clearance or collection, please do not hesitate to give us a call or
use the online form.
